Can we just ignore the fact that I've been a terrible bloggess as of late and pretend I still have a few loyal fans out there waiting on this post? perfect.

** Hope you don't mind that I started calling myself as a bloggess; I figured (a) no one else was going to and (b) I'm so over the word blogger, who's with me?

Anyways I decided May is the month I start blogging again, for real. No more Debbie Downer posts where I cry about my cry baby baby or confession posts where I admit to eating an entire box of pirate cookies, I mean who doesn't? oh nobody? that's embarassing. moving on...

Well ladies and gentlemen {yes I recently found out I have male followers - plural - yikes}, today is the day I'm going back to my roots, where I dedicate entire posts to my favourite firstborn, Miss Saigerella.

Once upon a time she was all I blogged about and then her ginger baby brother showed up and stole the show with his demanding ways and debonair smile. To make our girl feel a little less forgotten when she reads this 20+ years from now {or never}, I compiled a tip-of-the-iceberg list of all her 3 year old comments & quirks...

I refer to them as Saige'isms

- When traffic stops for her at a crosswalk, instead of raising her hand like a normal person to say 'thank you', our little pedestrian holds up the peace sign. I'm pretty sure the drivers in Vernon think we're raising a mini-John Lennon or Japanese tourist.

- Should I dare raise my voice, Saige tells me to "calm down" and "take a deep breath" while demonstrating a long drawn out inhale & exhale. Saige needs to learn that telling excitable people to calm down is never a good idea {no matter how cute you say it}.

- She's all about "choices" these days and is constantly asking what her "options" are... umm you're 3, you don't have any, it's either milk or milk.

- We've entered the helpful AND agreeable stage for which I'm taking FULL advantage...

Example #1:

Mom: "can you grab mommy a diaper?"

Saige: "shhure I can"

Example #2:

Mom: "can you let the dogs in?"

Saige: "okay momma"

- She loves ssauges {massages}, zert {dessert} and prizes {surprises} almost as much as I love hearing her say them.

- Our little girl continues to be a BIG time tomboy... all her dresses are covered in dirt, she fancies taking her shirt off when "it's beautiful out" and she asks if she can pee standing up. I think this is all because her besties are boys; the good news is that her Buzz Lightyear shirts and toy trains can get handed down to Gabe next year.

- Saige said "shut up" the other day {not my proudest mommy moment} and when I questioned her about it, she tells me she said, "shut the gas off" ... she's quick that one, good thing I'm quicker ;)

- Like most preschoolers {I hope} Saigers is one fantastic interrupter. We taught her how to say "excuse me", but now she just interrupts us with "s'cuse me" every 5 seconds. That's so much better... NOT! 

- My daughter's social calendar is waaay more exciting than my own leaving Tuesdays as our only 'do nothing' day. If it wasn't for preschool, play dates, soccer and swimming, I'd probably never get out of the house my pj's. 

- Other Saige phrases we hear on a regular basis include: "oh my goodness", "it's okay, I'll live", "I like you AND love you" {bonus!}, "I don't know what to choose", "no! don't count" {if I'm giving her a 1,2,3 warning}, "you know what I'm thinking?", "you're the best momma in the whole world" and "look at my size".

3 is awesome, SHE is awesome. 

Saige has become the very best part of my day. She's like my morning cup of comedy and I find myself wanting to talk brag about her all.the.time. We play the 'your daughter/your son' game in our house {if you're unfamiliar, it involves one parent blaming the other for their child's unpleasantness - ie. "your daughter didn't eat her dinner" or "your son needs a bum change"}. Well I'm happy to report that I've started taking credit for her again. Let's see how long this lasts.
